American black-walnut veneer (Juglans nigra) is one of the most popular hardwoods, and it's easy to see why. This unique plain-sliced black-walnut wood ranges in color from a rich chocolate brown to a cooler gray brown that, at times, may show a slight purple tint. Our flat-cut walnut-veneer plywood is open-grained and shows straight to somewhat wavy grain patterns. These unique colors, easier shapeability of the wood itself and grain patterns make this wood perfect for truly creative projects like furniture-making, wall paneling and more.

Sourced from southern Canada and the eastern United States, our black-walnut wood boards are premium grade and ideal for your various woodworking needs. These black-walnut-veneer sheets are plain sliced (also known as flat cut or crown cut) with no sap back, and faces are assembled from multiple components.

These American-walnut boards are available in various thicknesses, sizes and lengths.

  • Plain sliced walnut veneer sheets, also known as flat cut walnut veneers, are produced by thinly slicing walnut logs into pieces as wide as the log and then combining these pieces, matching grains, to make premium plywood faces and backs. These backs and faces are then used to sandwich numerous slices of birch hardwood into solid planks that can be used for a variety of wood projects, including furniture building, retail fixtures and architectural interiors.
